Dear compatriots! Dear veterans of the War of Abkhazia! I congratulate you on Victory and Independence Day!

28 years ago, the people of Abkhazia at the cost of incredible efforts and enormous sacrifices defended their right to life and freedom and proved, first of all to themselves, that our strength is in unity. Exhausted by the war and devastation, we survived the long-term blockade and international embargo.

We are not the only ones in the world who have endured such hardships, but we are one of the few who managed to start creating a full-fledged developing state.

Victory and Independence Day is a holiday that comes to every home in Abkhazia. There is no family among us that has not suffered the losses or hardships of the war.

The memory of those who fell for their Motherland, did not remain indifferent and came to our aid will forever remain in the memory of the Abkhaz people. This is a holiday not only for the residents of our republic, but also for numerous families of volunteers from the Republics of the North Caucasus of the Russian Federation and other countries.

Such a high price of freedom requires today the same dedication and consolidation to solve new tasks aimed at development of our state.

Dear compatriots, we are obliged to do everything to ensure that peaceful Abkhazia flourishes.

I wish you daily victories in the construction of an independent Abkhaz state.
