THE CABINET OF MINISTERS DISCUSSED THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ADDITIONAL MEASURES TO COMBAT COVID-19

Apsnypress. Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Alexander Ankvab held a meeting on the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in the Republic of Abkhazia. These events were reflected in the decision of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Socio-Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, signed by Alexander Ankvab and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin on November 9, 2020.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Vladimir Delba, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Christina Ozgan, Minister of Health Tamaz Tsakhnakia, Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Republic Lyudmila Skorik, Director of the RUE Abkhazpharmacy Rustam Adleyba.

There was approved a list of measures, the central government bodies of the republic responsible for the implementation of measures were identified, costs were calculated, and estimates were detailed.

According to the decision of the Intergovernmental Commission, the source of funding will be unclaimed funds from Russian financial assistance for 2020.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Kristina Ozgan spoke about the stages of implementation of each event and the total amount of necessary funding: “We have prepared a list of the most priority measures to combat infection. Personal protection and consumables for 75 calendar days, equipping 2 PCR lines for diagnosing SARS-cov-2, providing a centralized oxygen supply to the main building of the Gudauta COVID hospital. In addition, the list includes the remuneration of medical workers and other workers involved in providing medical assistance to citizens, ensuring sanitary and epidemiological safety. The total amount of pledged funds is 152 million 700 thousand rubles. "

According to Minister of Finance Vladimir Delba, the list of activities was formed based on the needs until the end of 2020. If necessary, the possibility of implementing such measures will be considered next year.

Health Minister Tamaz Tsakhnakia added that the department is already working on concluding contracts for the supply of equipment and medicines. He also said that together with the RUE "Abkhazpharmacy" they have been worked out in detail a list of drugs and medical products, including personal protective equipment, to cover the needs of 75 days (until the end of 2020).

Chief sanitary doctor of the republic, Lyudmila Skorik, added that the entire list of measures is necessary and timely.

“The implementation of these measures will improve the quality of medical services provided to patients with coronavirus. In particular, the purchase of two additional sets of equipment for PCR diagnostics is planned in order to make it possible to conduct research to detect coronavirus infection in Ochamchira and Gagra regions. This will take the burden off the Moscow laboratory and allow it to conduct research in a shorter time frame, ” Skorik stated.

At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister instructed the heads of the responsible departments to complete the preparation of the necessary documentation, noting that the measures should be implemented efficiently and on time (by the end of the year).
