The meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab, was chaired by the co-chair of the Abkhaz part of the working group, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Kristina Ozgan.

She noted that a large amount of work had been done on almost the entire block of planned activities, for which she thanked the representatives of departments who reported on implementation of the Program activities.

At the moment, there are difficulties with implementation of measures related to development of legal acts in the areas of social and pension provision, education and healthcare.

The Prime Minister instructed the heads of these departments to intensify work on the identified issues and drew attention to the need to comply with the deadlines for coordination. Alexander Ankvab emphasized the importance of the ongoing work and the personal responsibility of the ministers. “The implementation of the Program is a priority, since it is directly related to improving the quality of life of citizens of the republic. Deadlines cannot be broken. In relations with Russian colleagues, this is unacceptable,” he said.

During 2022, within the framework of the Harmonization Program, the Abkhaz side will have to complete the development of the Customs Code of the Republic of Abkhazia, the law on state duty, projects in the field of investment activities, tax legislation, healthcare, education, settlement of issues of dual citizenship and pensions for citizens.
