Sukhum. January 21, 2022. Apsnypress. Executive authorities are obliged to inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about their international activities and any international contacts: official trips, consultations and negotiations, documents expected to be signed and other agreements. This was stated in the commentary of Deputy Foreign Minister Irakli Tuzhba, posted on the website of the RA MFA.

According to Article 53 of the RA Constitution, the President determines the main directions of foreign policy.

In accordance with the presidential decree "On the coordinating role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia in the implementation of a common foreign policy" dated November 6, 2006, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the main coordinating body in the field of relations with foreign states and international organizations, exercises general control over the fulfillment of international obligations of our Republic , implements the foreign policy of the President of the country.

“In order to implement the provisions of the Decree in practice, the Ministry has approved a system of coordination and interaction between the Foreign Ministry and state authorities. Specific instructions were given to employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, who will carry out direct interaction with executive authorities, administrations of towns and regions,” Tuzhba said in a comment.

The RA MFA hopes that the executive authorities will pay close attention to this important aspect and, in accordance with the current regulations, will provide the department with maximum support.

"The effectiveness of our foreign policy will be determined by the unity and coordination of our actions," Tuzhba said.
