ALEXANDER ANKVAB RECEIVED REPRESENTATIVES OF THE RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE

Sukhum. August 17, 2021. Apsnypress. Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab received a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation headed by Roman Nekrasov, Director of Plant Growing, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Russian delegation arrived in the republic on a one-day visit for free transfer of auxiliary agricultural equipment to the Abkhaz side.

The meeting was also attended by Alexander Malko, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr", Deputy Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" Khamzat Belkharoev, head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in Krasnodar Territory Vitaly Marchenko.

The Abkhaz side was represented by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture Beslan Dzhopua, General Director of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Agriculture" Lesik Ayba.

The meeting participants told Prime Minister that they transferred 53 units of equipment for development of nursery farming, including mini-tractors, plows, hydraulic trailers, cultivators-hillers, etc. Beslan Dzhopua explained that the register of technical equipment and machines had been approved earlier in the course of interdepartmental negotiations, then the Russian side ordered equipment from manufacturers, some units were made specifically for this supply for the needs of the Abkhaz side. The equipment was brought to Abkhazia after assembling in Sochi.

The assistance was provided within the framework of intergovernmental cooperation on development of the agricultural complex of Abkhazia.

Prime Minister thanked the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, stressing that it has been possible to solve many problems within the close cooperation. For example, the invasion of the marble bug, which seriously threatens the harvest of various fruit crops, was successfully suppressed.

“Huge work has been done in the fight against insect pests, strengthening the capabilities of machine-technical stations in the republic. This is important for us, we hope for further support ”.

During the meeting, Roman Nekrasov noted: “Our work is under the personal control of Minister Dmitry Patrushev. Together with the Abkhaz side, it was decided to support the development of nursery farming. The republic has great potential for growing citrus crops. We, together with Abkhaz scientists, believe that Abkhazia can produce up to a million seedlings a year, we will try to help achieve this target. "
