The inflow of funds to Abkhazia through the banking system amounted to 19.5 billion rubles, the outflow of funds from the country - 17.8 billion rubles. Thus, the positive cash flow balance amounted to 1.7 billion rubles.
The balance of cross-border cash flows was negative in the amount of 1.3 billion rubles for the same period in 2020 (inflow - 11.6 billion rubles, outflow - 12.9 billion rubles). Low economic activity in the first half of 2020 was largely due to introduction of restrictions on crossing the Abkhaz-Russian state border due to the spread of COVID-19 infection.
The main payment currencies in the first half of 2021 were the Russian ruble, which accounts for 87.1% of the total volume of cross-border transactions, the US dollar - 7.5%, the euro - 4.0%, the rest - (Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, Turkish lira) - 1.4%.
