CASH FLOW IN THE REPUBLIC OF ABKHAZIA INCREASED BY 6.6 BLN RUBLES IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2021

The cross-border turnover of funds through the banking system of the Republic of Abkhazia in the first half of 2021 amounted to 37.3 billion rubles, which is 12.8 billion rubles. (52%) more than the indicator for the same period in 2020, according to the website of the Bank of Abkhazia.

The inflow of funds to Abkhazia through the banking system amounted to 19.5 billion rubles, the outflow of funds from the country - 17.8 billion rubles. Thus, the positive cash flow balance amounted to 1.7 billion rubles.

The balance of cross-border cash flows was negative in the amount of 1.3 billion rubles for the same period in 2020 (inflow - 11.6 billion rubles, outflow - 12.9 billion rubles). Low economic activity in the first half of 2020 was largely due to introduction of restrictions on crossing the Abkhaz-Russian state border due to the spread of COVID-19 infection.

The main payment currencies in the first half of 2021 were the Russian ruble, which accounts for 87.1% of the total volume of cross-border transactions, the US dollar - 7.5%, the euro - 4.0%, the rest - (Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, Turkish lira) - 1.4%.
