Monday, 19 April 2021 14:37 307

Sukhum. April 16, 2021 Apsnypress. Today there was held a meeting on the issues of socio-economic cooperation between Abkhazia and Russia at the RA Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister, was attended by representatives of the Russian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Sergey Nazarov.

Upon its completion, Sergey Nazarov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Christina Ozgan talked to the press.

“We reviewed the progress of the Investment Program, what are the difficulties and timing of its activities. Another issue - the largest in terms of scope and tasks - is the legislation synchronization of Russia and Abkhazia. There is an action plan, it concerns almost all spheres of activity, and today we discussed how the things are. There are many of them in the field of customs legislation. The synchronization of the legislation of the two states will greatly facilitate the movement of people, cargo and goods, which is relevant today. Another difficult issue today is the area of energy supply. The republic is experiencing difficulties. In our opinion, they are systemic. It is necessary to synchronize the legislation, take a number of measures to correct the situation. We discussed and outlined everything. I hope everything will work out, ” said Sergey Nazarov.

“We have substantively touched upon the issues of the practical implementation of all these areas. There are issues that require a systematic approach. We discussed this and worked out approaches, ” said Christina Ozgan.

According to Ozgan, the plan of the legislation harmonization is already in an active phase.

“We needed to define approaches and methodology. The positions of the two sides are clear, there is understanding, we are moving on, ” she said.

One of the main issues discussed at the meeting was the state of the energy sector and the ways out of this systemic crisis.

“Now we are working with the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economic Development. All this will result in the relevant government regulations. We very much hope that we will solve all these problems with the help of our colleagues from the Russian Federation. There are two things that are the most problematic - the financial side of the issue, which we are trying to solve in cooperation with our Russian colleagues, and also the organizational one. We have absolutely identical positions and we hope that we will implement these events , ” said Christina Ozgan.
