The parties exchanged views on the agenda of bilateral relations, and also stressed the importance of the newly established Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic.

"Syria has been forced to deal with external and internal threats of terrorism on the battlefields for a long time. Today we are more focused on the political struggle in the international arena. Many countries that previously supported the conspirators are trying to restore relations with Syria. We look to the future for the sake of our people, therefore, we consider it necessary to unite in the fight against economic terrorism and sanctions imposed solely in the interests of individual countries "- said Walid Al Muallem.

Also there was signed the Syrian-Abkhaz intergovernmental agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic or service passports. On the same day, the Abkhazian delegation met with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Syria, Hussein Arnus.

He also said that the Syrian side has already prepared its list of members of the joint Abkhaz-Syrian commission on trade, economic, scientific, cultural and tourism cooperation.
