The Head of Government briefed the President on the current state of affairs related to the spread of coronavirus infection, in particular the new Omicron strain, on the measures taken by the Government and the Ministry of Health.

Alexander Ankvab drew attention to an increase of cases, but at the same time a decrease of hospitalizations and seriously ill patients.  Prime Minister also announced that a number of schools have been quarantined.

President Aslan Bzhaniya instructed the government and the operational headquarters to protect the population from coronavirus infection and take urgent measures aimed at providing patients with medicines.
