The heads of the tourism departments of Abkhazia and Russia exchanged views on creating favorable conditions for tourists, discussed the results of the summer resort season, and considered issues of ensuring the safety of winter tourism.

The head of Rostourism Z. Doguzova emphasized that the priority for Russian tourists when planning their travel is to provide them with a comfortable and safe stay on the territory of another country.

During the meeting, Teimuraz Khishba turned to the head of Rostourism with a proposal to consider the issue of including visits to the port of Sukhum by Russian cruise ships. Minister noted that development of cruise tourism will help significantly increase the flow of tourists to Abkhazia, and to realize tourism potential.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Abkhazia, which will give impetus to the development of Russian-Abkhaz relations and ensure an increase in mutual tourist flows, as well as expansion of tourist routes.
