THERE WAS OPENED AN EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS OF THE PUBLIC VETERANS ORGANIZATION "ARUAA" IN THE CONFERENCE HALL OF THE INTER-SUKHUM HOTEL

Sukhum. March 11, 2021. Apsnypress. There was opened an extraordinary congress of the public veterans organization "Aruaa" in the conference hall of the Inter-Sukhum hotel on March 11 at 13:00. The main goal of which was the discussing a complex of problems related to the foreign policy of Abkhazia and its socio-economic development.

Opening the congress, war veteran, former head of the Gal district Administration Timur Nadaraya greeted the delegates and read out the agenda of the 9th Aruaa congress. The agenda includes three issues:

discussion of the socio-political situation in Abkhazia,

approval of the new composition of the Supreme Council "Aruaa",

adoption of the congress resolution.

The participants of the congress observed a minute of silence in memory of the people of Abkhazia who died in the War.

Nadaraya drew attention to the fact that Aruaa is not a party and does not have a fixed membership.

“In accordance with the charter, veterans and members of their families can be members of our organization, and we admitted many young people whose fathers fought and died at the front,” Nadaraya said.

The main report at the congress was made by the chairman of the veteran organization Timur Gulia.

Three days before a group of veterans of Abkhazia "Aruaa" made an appeal in which they called on the President to "make a strong-willed decision and resign."

On the eve of the congress, the heads of law enforcement agencies on the air of Abkhazian television appealed to representatives of the opposition political forces "not to go beyond the legal framework and maintain law and order in order to avoid excesses and other consequences that can lead to irreparable consequences."

They expressed their hope that the Aruaa congress will be held in a calm atmosphere.
