On March 4, 2021, RA citizen Akhrik Ruslanovich Avidzba, born in 1986, was invited to the RA State Security Service to conduct an explanatory conversation with him about the further prevention of an armed guards with him. Avidzba A.R. rejected the proposal of law enforcement agencies.

On the same day, during the implementation of operational information, officers of the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia found and seized light machine guns, machine guns, pistols and a large amount of ammunition, as well as hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers and special communications equipment at the place of residence of Avidzba.

Avidzba A.R. was detained and placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Security Service of the Republic of Abkhazia; 5 foreign citizens, mostly citizens of Ukraine, were also detained.

There was initiated a criminal case on the fact of illegal acquisition and storage of weapons.
