The Head of  State was interested in the progress to suppress illegal consumption of electricity and illegal activities of cryptocurrency mining farms.

Acting head of the Gagra district administration Yuri Khagush reported on the situation and the planned measures to combat mining.

The meeting was attended by chairman of the Assembly of the Gagra region Astan Agrba, power engineers, representatives of regional departments of law enforcement agencies and tax services.

On January 22, President ordered the creation of headquarters in each district to combat the illegal production of cryptocurrencies under the leadership of the heads of district administrations and to reduce the load on the power grid to the level of 2019 plus 5%. In Gagra region the load was reduced by 17.2 megawatts, 32 farms were shut down.

President instructed to continue monitoring of the execution of orders and warned about the inadmissibility of unauthorized connections to power grids. Other topical issues were also discussed at the meeting.
