Sukhum. December 8, 2020. Apsnypress. Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Christina Ozgan held a working meeting with the leadership of the RUE “Chernomorenergo”, power engineers of the capital, as well as representatives of the republic’s security services on the implementation of additional measures to minimize the consequences of the accident at “Sukhum-1” substation, the press service of the RA Cabinet of Ministers reports.

It was about organizing additional measures to reduce the load on substations supplying Sukhum, and to save consumed electricity, redistributing it to subscribers - individuals, medical and other facilities.

Christina Ozgan instructed the concerned departments, with the assistance of security officials, to conduct raid inspections of large and medium-sized enterprises in order to identify and de-energize those consumers who do not need electricity during peak loads, especially non-functioning facilities.

According to Deputy Prime Minister, this measure will allow more efficient allocation of resources and prevent possible accidents at substations.

In addition, Ozgan recalled that it is necessary to monitor the situation in the regions of Abkhazia. She instructed the management of Chernomorenergo to accumulate analytical data on the current technical condition and possible threats of all the republic's electric power converters. According to the instruction, power engineers must prepare a number of recommendations to prevent possible emergencies.

Employees of the energy sphere noted that the degree of responsiveness and decision-making in certain problem situations depends on the technical (stock of equipment, etc.) reserves of Chernomorenergo. However, this is directly proportional to the dynamics of receipts from payment of bills by subscribers for consumed electricity.

Ozgan stressed that it is important to work with the population and strengthen the administration of the payments collection for Chernomorenergo's services.
